Studium | No Exit: A Gothic Horror Fantasy Board Game Launches on Kickstarter
Watchtower Gaming has unveiled their newest creation, Studium | No Exit, a gothic horror fantasy board game, on Kickstarter. With 27 days to go and already amassing over US$226,353 from 940 backers, the campaign has far exceeded its initial goal of US$40,000. The game, featuring a compelling campaign style gameplay, stunning artwork, and detailed miniatures, invites players into an immersive Gothic horror fantasy world.
Studium | No Exit offers a unique tile-based dungeon crawler experience with a captivating narrative that keeps players on the edge of their seats. In the game, players assume the roles of newcomers held captive by the sinister forces controlling the labyrinthine Studium. As members of a house, they are tasked with venturing into the Studium’s darkest depths to vanquish unspeakable horrors.
The game’s engaging story events challenge players as they traverse the Studium’s ruined halls. The choices they make could have profound consequences on their characters, their companions, and potentially the entire Studium. Combat relies on a familiar dice-rolling mechanism, enhanced by each player’s unique equipment and skills.
Intended for multiple play sessions, Studium | No Exit encourages character development over time. Milestones shape each character, contributing to their survivability in this forbidding environment. These milestones might represent the acquisition of knowledge, improved battle skills, team cohesion, or even the romantic bonds between characters.
A unique feature of the game is the “Reflection” system, which enables players to harness the Studium’s abundant resources to craft formidable weapons, armor, and accessories. As players navigate the ever-changing labyrinth and battle against horrific creatures, they will uncover the Studium’s secrets, upgrade their gear, and unite with other survivors in their desperate bid for survival.
Studium | No Exit promises to deliver a haunting and memorable board game adventure. With its stunning artwork, detailed miniatures, and a story that pulls players into its gothic horror world, it’s an experience that fans of fantasy role-playing games won’t soon forget. With the Kickstarter campaign ongoing until June 29, there is still time for interested backers to support this unique project.
