Free League Publishing has announced the release of a new expansion for its award-winning role-playing game, The One Ring™. The expansion, titled Tales From the Lone-Lands, is based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and contains six new adventures set in the lone-lands of north-western Middle-earth.
Players can choose to play each adventure separately, or as part of a larger narrative. The tales included in the expansion are: A Troll-Hole, If Ever There Was One, Kings of Little Kingdoms, Messing About In Boats, Not To Strike Without Need, Wonder of the Northern World, and The Quest of Amon Guruthos.
The adventures are designed to immerse players in the lore and mythology of Middle-earth, with the expansion assuming that the time frame is the same as in The One Ring™ RPG, around the years 2965.
The One Ring™ role-playing game was first released in 2011 and is based on Tolkien’s beloved works, The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™. The game allows players to explore Middle-earth and play a role in the struggle against the Shadow.
