Fantasy Flight Games has announced the repackaging of the Ered Mithrin cycle for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, promising a fresh adventure for both new and veteran players. Dubbed “Into the Wilds,” this release beckons players back to the untamed wilds of Middle-earth, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner.

Since the fall of the dragon Smaug, Dale has flourished into a bustling trade hub. Yet, as shadows lengthen over Middle-earth, its merchants and heroes alike must band together against a formidable new threat. This backdrop sets the stage for the Ered Mithrin expansions, which reintroduce players to the wilds of Rhovanion and beyond.

The release is split into two expansions: the Ered Mithrin Hero Expansion and the Ered Mithrin Campaign Expansion. The Hero Expansion is a treasure trove of player cards from The Wilds of Rhovanion and the Ered Mithrin cycle, featuring heroes, allies, and equipment to bolster your decks. The Campaign Expansion, on the other hand, compiles all the scenario cards from the same cycle, along with new campaign cards not included in the original release.

Longtime players who possess the original Ered Mithrin cycle content will find the new campaign cards the primary draw of the latest expansions. These cards will also be available as print-and-play content on the Fantasy Flight Games website, ensuring all fans can enjoy the new narratives.

The Ered Mithrin Hero Expansion introduces a diverse array of characters and strategies. For instance, players can utilize Brand son of Bain and Bard to empower Dale characters with potent attachments. Radagast the Brown makes an appearance as well, inviting players to build decks around Creature allies. And for those who favor cunning over brute force, Bilbo Baggins offers a tactical advantage with his ability to deal damage while questing.

The Ered Mithrin Campaign Expansion invites players on an epic journey across Rhovanion. From escorting refugees to battling a terrifying dragon, the campaign weaves the scenarios of The Wilds of Rhovanion and the Ered Mithrin cycle into a grand narrative. New boon allies, special Accolades, and the cunning Urdug add depth to the adventure, while treasure cards offer powerful artifacts to aid in the quest.
