Discworld Returns to the Tabletop with New Modiphius RPG
Modiphius Entertainment is heading back to the Disc — and this time it’s trading the cobbled streets of Ankh-Morpork for the hills, forests, and castles of the Ramtops.
The publisher has announced Discworld: Adventures in Lancre and Überwald, a brand-new tabletop RPG launching on Gamefound this October. It follows the success of Discworld: Adventures in Ankh Morpork, which raised over £2m on Kickstarter during its 2025 campaign.
A Standalone Trip to the Ramtops
The good news for newcomers: you won’t need the first book to jump in. Adventures in Lancre and Überwald is a standalone core rulebook, playable with or without its predecessor. That makes it an easy entry point for anyone who’s been curious about Discworld roleplaying but didn’t back the original campaign.
The new book explores three iconic corners of Terry Pratchett’s world:
- Lancre — home turf of the witches
- Überwald — the gloomy, vampire-heavy region beyond the mountains
- The Chalk — the rural downland region introduced in the later Discworld novels
Play as Witches, Vampires, Trolls, and Werewolves
Players will be able to encounter — and play as — witches, vampires, trolls, and werewolves, opening up a much wider range of character options than before. The book also brings in plenty of fan-favourite characters and locations, from the Ogg clan to Don’tgonearthe Castle to Granny Weatherwax herself.

For the first time in the official Discworld RPG line, there are also full rules for running ongoing campaigns, plus a book of linked adventures that takes players on a tour of the Ramtops.
What’s in the Campaign
Modiphius is promising a hefty spread of options when the Gamefound campaign goes live in October, including:
- A hardcover core rulebook in standard and collector’s editions
- An adventure book
- A GM Toolkit
- Additional supplements
- Dice
The publisher is also putting extra focus on onboarding. The book includes expanded guidance and support for new players and gamemasters, with more examples that lean into the humour and wit Pratchett’s series is known for. There are also expanded rules for complex challenges, new risks for taking multiple consequences, and plenty of common situations explained in full — all of which Modiphius is billing as the easiest entry point yet for newcomers to both Discworld and tabletop RPGs in general.
More Discworld on the Way
This isn’t the only Discworld project in Modiphius’s pipeline. The publisher also has Kill Sam Vimes, a light board game about pursuing the titular character, and Readers Digested, a licensed edition of Reiner Knizia’s Blue Moon City, both available to pre-order now.
The Discworld: Adventures in Lancre and Überwald Gamefound campaign launches in October.
