Games Workshop Accidentally Leaks New Dwarf Faction for Age of Sigmar

ByTGN News Team September 14, 2026September 14, 2026

Games Workshop has a new dwarf faction headed to Age of Sigmar — and we know that because the company accidentally showed it off early.

The Khazalite Holds briefly appeared on the Irish version of the Warhammer Store website before being hastily taken down. GW hasn’t released high-resolution versions of the images, so for now fans are squinting at blurry screenshots. The company also hasn’t commented further on the leak itself.

What We Know So Far

Age of Sigmar already has two duardin factions — the steampunk air pirates of the Kharadron Overlords and the slayer-inspired Fyreslayers — but neither scratches the itch for classic Warhammer dwarves. The Khazalite Holds look set to change that.

The leaked images showed off three distinct groups of miniatures:

  • Footsoldiers — Stoic, unrelenting infantry with shields bearing traditional runes that Warhammer Fantasy veterans will recognise
  • Golem-like constructs — A trio of heavy hitters, described by one observer as “stout as all hell,” armed with greathammers and looking every bit the linebreakers
  • A leader — Thick armour, well-plaited hair, a billowing cloak, a great axe, and an impressive headpiece. Plus a tactical rock, naturally.

The models feature pseudo-Nordic knotwork and runic designs straight out of the Old World, but with the proportions and round bases that Age of Sigmar players are used to.

GW Responds to the Leak

Rather than waiting for Friday’s Big Autumn Warhammer Preview, GW leaned into the leak and shared a bit more about the faction.

“Meet a Gholem of Gazul,” the company said. “What’s a Gholem? Who is Gazul? Well, for now all we can say is that it marches to war amidst the war throngs of the Khazalites Holds – an all-new Duardin faction for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. We’ll delve into the lore, rules and even more sweet new miniatures on Friday in the live reveal show.”

So lore, rules, and more miniatures are all coming at the end of the week.

The Rumours Were Right

This one didn’t come out of nowhere. Drolf Ironhead, a hero from Warhammer Quest: Darkwater released earlier this year, had already hinted that a faction like this might be on the way. The leaked web images confirmed what fans had been speculating about for months.

Why Fans Are Excited

For longtime Warhammer players, this feels like a homecoming. The Old World’s classic dwarves have been missing from Age of Sigmar, and the Khazalite Holds look like a proper spiritual successor — much like how the Lumineth Realm-lords gave High Elf fans a new home in the Mortal Realms.

The full reveal is expected at Friday’s live show.
