Thunderstone Quest Expands with “Rise and Fall” Expansion
Thunderstone Quest, the acclaimed fantasy deck-building game designed by Mike Elliott, introduces its latest expansion, “Rise and Fall,” offering new dynamics and challenges for its players. This expansion adds two new Quests, enhancing the game’s adventure-driven gameplay with new dungeon tiles that introduce both challenges and rewards.
Players of Thunderstone Quest start with a basic deck of cards, which they can upgrade by acquiring more powerful cards. The “Rise and Fall” expansion enriches the game with additional heroes, monsters, and support cards, which contribute to a highly replayable gaming experience thanks to diverse setup possibilities that vary with each session.
Each Quest in the expansion is paired with mini-adventures and a story booklet that narrates the progression through the game’s scenarios. This structure not only deepens the narrative experience but also adds layers of strategic depth. Players must carefully choose their heroes and equipment, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the monster groups they face in the dungeon deck.
The expansion continues to support a variety of heroes such as wizards, fighters, rogues, and clerics, and integrates these characters into the new scenarios and challenges that “Rise and Fall” presents.
Since its initial successful Kickstarter campaign in spring 2017, Thunderstone Quest has grown to include multiple expansions, now totaling seventeen Quests. The ongoing popularity of the series is a testament to its engaging mechanics and evolving gameplay.
As of now, the Kickstarter campaign for “Rise and Fall” has reached $127,780, surpassing its original goal of $50,000 thanks to 1,549 backers. The campaign will continue to accept pledges until June 1st, indicating strong ongoing support and anticipation for this latest expansion.
