Portal Games has announced the release of their new board game, “Printing Press.” This game invites players to immerse themselves in the competitive world of 16th-century publishing, aiming to establish the most prestigious print shop of the Renaissance era.
“Printing Press” is designed to be a family-friendly game that requires players to excel in drafting the right cards, along with choosing the appropriate plate and frame pair. The game challenges players to assemble the best set over 4–6 rounds, which varies based on the chosen difficulty level. Participants are tasked with selecting optimal lettering, inscriptions, and coloring for books, striving to produce the most esteemed volume.
Priced at $39.00, “Printing Press” focuses on fulfilling customer orders and enhancing the reputation of players’ printing studios. The game unfolds over three rounds, during which players strategically select plates, frames, and printing cards to meet unique customer demands. The objective is to earn the most prestige points by meticulously executing assigned tasks, with the highest-scoring player declared the winner after three rounds.
Offering a blend of fast-paced gameplay and strategic decision-making, “Printing Press” is the creation of Przemek Wojtkowiak and Łukasz Wozniak. The game accommodates 1-4 players, with sessions lasting between 15-60 minutes, and is suitable for ages 10 and up.
