Japanime Games, in collaboration with Son of Oak Game Studio, has recently announced the launch of “QUEERZ!”, a superhero-themed tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) that emphasizes themes of empathy, love, and inclusivity. Designed to incorporate LGBTQ+ themes, the game encourages players to use the power of rainbows to combat ignorance and spread understanding.
The game employs the mechanics of the City of Mist role-playing system, allowing for a high degree of character customization and a diverse set of abilities. “QUEERZ!” introduces a tag-based gameplay system, enabling players to utilize a broad spectrum of items and traits, ranging from “drag queen’s wigs” to “cinnamon rolls”, to overcome obstacles and confront adversaries.
Drawing inspiration from the “QUEERZ!” manga by Isago Fukuda, the game transitions the stories and characters from page to tabletop, offering players an engaging narrative and interactive experience focused on combating forces of ignorance through empathy.
