Excitement is building as Kobold Press prepares for the next big step in Project Black Flag, a series of efforts to update and publish a core fantasy RPG based on 5E Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1. The clock is ticking down, with only days to go until the big reveal: the game’s official name.
Project Black Flag has been a code name for the larger series of efforts by Kobold Press, which includes the new Core Fantasy Roleplay rules released and available under an open license, as well as two core books coming to Kickstarter in 2023.
The goal of Project Black Flag is to maintain compatibility with the 5E products players already know and love, while expanding upon them with a Kobold Press spin. The new books aim to embrace 5E and keep the products vibrant and available, both in print and on their virtual tabletop partner platforms.
The countdown is on, and when the clock hits zero, the new game logo will be revealed, and players will have a new banner to rally under as they take 5E into a bright future. The announcement will be made on the countdown page in just five days’ time.
