Kickstarter Campaign Launched for The Laundry Roleplaying Game by Cubicle 7 Games

Cubicle 7 Games has initiated a Kickstarter campaign for a new edition of “The Laundry Roleplaying Game,” based on the “The Laundry Files” novels by Charles Stross. The game, which blends cosmic horror with tech-driven magic and occult spycraft, has surpassed its funding goal with $57,606 pledged against an original target of $21,706. The campaign, supported by 359 backers, is set to conclude on May 1st, with 20 days left for potential backers to join.

In “The Laundry,” players find themselves as operatives of a secret branch of the British service, dealing with supernatural, alien, and interdimensional threats. The game’s premise is built around the concept that magic is a real, calculable force, closely linked to mathematics and significantly amplified by technology.

This edition aims to welcome both returning fans and newcomers. For those already acquainted with the Laundry Files universe or the previous version of the game, this iteration promises updated content and an improved game system. New participants are offered a primer into a world where the boundaries of reality are flexible, and the arcane becomes a necessary tool for survival.

The narrative framework places the operatives in challenging scenarios where they must utilize both magic and technology to safeguard humanity. The secretive organization they serve, known as “the Laundry,” specializes in preventing cataclysmic events orchestrated by entities from beyond our normal understanding of the universe.

The campaign highlights the unique aspects of the game, such as the incorporation of magically enhanced technology and the diverse, often hazardous duties of an operative. While the job may come with its peculiar advantages, it also demands significant sacrifices and poses constant risks.
