The Castles & Crusades Adventurers Armory Kickstarter project has successfully garnered US$27,004 in pledges, far surpassing its initial US$2,500 goal, with 26 days remaining before it concludes on July 6.
Brought to life by the creators of Castles & Crusades, this ambitious project aims to deliver an encyclopedia of weaponry, armor, shields, and helms, both mundane and exotic, that would enrich the experiences of dedicated gamers. The project includes three books: the Adventurers Armory, the Monstrous Armory, and War Mounts, featuring beautiful illustrations by Peter Bradley and cover art by Zoe DeVos.
The Adventurers Armory is a comprehensive 250-page guide to weapons and armor drawn from various periods and cultures. Its entries include clubs, maces, knives, daggers, swords, and even siege and naval weapons, each with quick-play stats, optional rules, and proficiency rules. Additionally, it includes an introduction to the evolution of weapons and armor and offers suggestions on how this can be incorporated into any game of Castles and Crusades.
The Monstrous Armory, a 128-page book, expands upon the weaponry and armor used by monsters, humanoids, fey, giants, magical beasts, and even aberrations. This book presents the weapons favored by various creatures, adding a new level of depth and intrigue to monster development and combat scenarios.
Lastly, War Mounts is a 48-56 page softcover book that dives into the beasts of war, their stats, and peculiar natures. From goblins riding worgs to death knights riding nightmares, War Mounts promises to create a comprehensive guide to the creatures that bear warriors into battle.
