The underworlds of Warhammer continue to evolve, with Games Workshop revealing its latest set of additions to the ever-expanding universe in the recent Sunday Preview. This week’s offering includes a new starter set, a spectral warband, blind-box Space Marines, exciting literature, and much more.
The popular Space Marine Heroes range sees the addition of the pestilent Death Guard, warriors individually available or as a set in eight boxes, each guaranteed to contain one of all seven designs. This range offers intriguing miniatures, including the Malignant Plaguecaster, previously exclusive to Japan, making a must-have for any Death Guard army fan.
The Warhammer Underworlds starter set provides a perfect gateway for players new to the game. It includes two complete warbands, two decks for the quick-fire Rivals format, and all the necessary boards, dice, and tokens. The set features the Farstriders, veteran Stormcast Eternals, and the Sepulchral Guard, undead tomb wardens, guiding new players through the rules and game mechanics.
Noteworthy is the addition of a spooky new warband, The Headsmen’s Curse, led by a sentient, spectral sword, Terminus, that commands Nighthaunt spirits to escort it across the battlefield. This aggressive, powerful warband emphasizes supporting the Wielder of the Blade and implements multiple control mechanics and special skills.
In the exciting Rivals format, the Voidcursed Thralls deck comprises 32 cards usable by any Warhammer Underworlds warband. It introduces the dreaded Voidcurse to fighters, enabling them to use potent Gambit cards, especially useful for aggressive warbands.
The Black Library lineup brings forth “Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear (Limited Edition)” by Noah Van Nguyen, following Sigmar’s chosen huntress in her fight against a deadly monster. This limited edition, individually numbered, and author-signed book features an exquisite soft-touch cover and is limited to just 1,250 copies. The release also includes audiobooks such as “Choose Your Enemies” by Sandy Mitchell and “Fall of Damnos” by Nick Kyme.
“Renegades: Harrowmaster” by Mike Brooks dives deep into the mysterious Alpha Legion and sees its first-ever German translation. The second series of Warhammer 40,000 Chibi figures from Bandai provides adorable representations of popular Warhammer characters for collectors.
This week’s updates also herald a big week for Warhammer+, starting with the first Battle Report from the new edition of Warhammer 40,000, featuring acts from the Leviathan box set. Additionally, the animated series Blacktalon continues, and coverage of the US Open Kansas City will be live this Friday. The Faction Focus series is nearing its conclusion, promising a grand finale with a first encounter with Titans in the 10th edition.
