Deliverance: Council of the Fallen Launches on Kickstarter with Expansion and 2nd Edition

The board game Deliverance has returned to Kickstarter with its latest expansion, Council of the Fallen, and a second edition of the base game. Created by Andrew Lowen, Deliverance is known for its unique blend of tactical combat and spiritual warfare themes, offering both a quick-play Skirmish mode and a more involved story-driven Campaign.

The game stands out for its ease of setup, which takes just 10 minutes, and its deep customization options. Players can choose from a variety of angelic heroes, each with unique abilities and over 125 possible talent combinations, alongside more than 70 Heavenly Treasure cards to enhance gameplay. Deliverance can be played solo or up to five players.

The expansion, Council of the Fallen, introduces six new angels, new enemies, and a challenging Campaign that explores more of Fallbrook’s mysteries. It also adds a new 5th-player mode and a variety of new cards. In the Campaign mode, players make choices that determine the outcome for Fallbrook, while Skirmish mode offers a quicker, one-off adventure for those looking for a shorter session.

One of the game’s unique features is its Darkness, Saint, and Prayer systems. Players must protect saints from demonic forces and manage the rising tide of Darkness, making careful use of their limited actions. Prayer mechanics offer opportunities for divine intervention, giving players tools to combat even the most challenging situations.

The Kickstarter campaign offers ongoing support for Deliverance through free quarterly content delivered to backers via email, ensuring that the game stays fresh for those who invest in it.

Deliverance: Council of the Fallen has already surpassed its funding goal. With 24 days remaining, the campaign has raised over $155,000 from more than 960 backers, far exceeding its initial $75,000 target. The Kickstarter will remain live until October 19.
