“Children of the Sun” Strategy Board Game Set for Kickstarter Launch on July 2
Jupiter Valley Studios has announced the upcoming launch of their Kickstarter campaign for “Children of the Sun,” a strategy board game designed for two players by Sam Kennedy. The campaign, scheduled to start on July 2.
In “Children of the Sun,” players assume the roles of dragon offspring of Ino’itl, the Sun god, who are sent to Earth to create a landscape as a tribute to Xochanama, the Moon goddess. The game involves placing Elemental Tokens on a 6×6 grid, capturing opponent pieces, and collecting Elements of Creation. These elements are used to create Creation Cards, which depict the evolving landscape. Each card type provides different scoring options and requires players to manage an ecosystem.
The game also features Dragon Powers and Flourishing tokens that introduce additional strategic choices. The objective is to craft the most impressive landscape, winning the favor of the Moon goddess and the Sun god.
The Kickstarter campaign for “Children of the Sun” will offer the base game at an MSRP of $49, with further details on rewards and stretch goals available at launch. The campaign is scheduled to run through August 1, 2024. Post-campaign, production is expected to take six months, with the game set to be delivered by April 2025.
