Casting Call: Transform Your Home into a Hollywood Set with This New Party Card Game

The box of "Casting Call: The Game" features a clapperboard design and spotlights against a purple, starry Hollywood set background. Text reads, "Everyone Plays a Part! A party card game for 4-14 players. Play time: 20-40 minutes.

A new party card game, Casting Call, is offering an experience that simulates the thrills and challenges of Hollywood auditions. Created by JC Calciano, known for his work on Steam Room Stories and its podcast Steamy Stories, this game transforms any gathering into a competitive acting showdown.

The game includes an instruction manual and 90 cards categorized into Screenplay, Callback, “Do You Know Who I Am?!”, and Star cards. The gameplay involves one player assuming the role of the director while the others act out scenes using the Screenplay cards. Actors vie for the director’s approval, progressing through auditions and callbacks, with the aim of earning Star cards.

The essence of the game lies in the unpredictability introduced by the “Do You Know Who I Am?!” cards, which allow players to disrupt the gameplay, steal roles, and turn the tide in their favor. This element adds a strategic layer to the game, as players must decide the optimal time to play their cards.

The Kickstarter campaign offers the game at a special rate, along with discounts on two expansion packs: Horror Films and Adults Only.

The Kickstarter campaign for Casting Call will conclude on August 30. It has achieved its funding goal, with $4,002 pledged of the $4,000 target from 56 backers. Interested backers can still participate and secure their copy of the game by visiting the campaign page on Kickstarter.
