Awaken Realms has reintroduced the “Castles of Burgundy: Special Edition” via a crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound. The campaign quickly achieved its initial funding goal of $20,000, reaching the target in just 3 minutes and 28 seconds. As of now, the project has gathered $672,284 from 4,247 backers, with 13 days remaining in the campaign.
“Castles of Burgundy,” designed by Stefan Feld, is ranked as the #16 best game worldwide according to Board Game Geek (BGG). The special edition features a complete redesign of artwork and layout, alongside high-quality components that enhance gameplay usability.
This edition is comprehensive, containing all previous expansions in one package. It introduces the new Vineyard expansion and includes a solo automa, broadening the game’s appeal and accessibility.
In this game, designed for 1-4 players, participants take on the roles of aristocrats managing their princedoms. Gameplay involves building settlements, constructing castles, engaging in trade, mining for silver, and leveraging the knowledge of travelers.
