Games Workshop has announced some big announcements at Adepticon this year.

The biggest reveal was that Warhammer 40,000 is set to change in a big way this year, with an exclusive first look at new details, models, and a cinematic trailer which can be seen at the bottom of this post. Fans were also treated to the first look at the model for the legendary Primarch of the Dark Angels, who has returned to ensure the Emperor’s will is done.

The Arks of Omen saga reaches its epic climax in the fifth volume, as Lion El’Jonson returns to galactic tumult. Meanwhile, the Imperial Fists begin an apocalyptic campaign to conquer Cthonia in the new expansion book for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. This new expansion introduces the Onslaught campaign system, expanded rules for the Legiones Astartes, and heralds the return of Zone Mortalis.

The event also featured exciting news for fans of Age of Sigmar, with new heroes and battletomes arriving for the Ossiarch Bonereapers and Soulblight Gravelords, including a mystical bone-construct engineer and an outcast monster-hunting vampire. The Cities of Sigmar also received their first new miniatures since the dawn of the Age of Sigmar, along with an updated roadmap for the next slate of battletomes coming in 2023.

The event also introduced the new age of the Seraphon, guided by the wisdom of the Slann Starmasters and enforced by a range of striking new miniatures. Fans were also treated to a first look at the Wyrdhollow expansion for Warhammer Underworlds, which features magical Stormcast Eternals dueling with the inscrutable spawn of Tzeentch in the Gnarlwood.
