The Kickstarter campaign for SAKURAKAMI: The Jewel of the Empire by Zenit Miniatures has already surpassed its initial goal of €4,000 and has raised a total of €10,000 with 8 days left in the campaign.
SAKURAKAMI is a new range from Kensei armies, a samurai tabletop wargame set in the fantastical world of Himukai. The campaign aims to create a set of miniatures that can be used in the Clash of Katanas game or in other wargames, RPGs, or for artistic painting.
The story behind SAKURAKAMI is just as captivating as the miniatures themselves. The game’s narrative is set during the reign of the seventh empress of Himukai, where the two daughters of the empress, Natsumi and Chizu, each have their own responsibilities. Natsumi is tasked with maintaining Himukai’s protective barrier, while Chizu is raised and trained in exile to serve the empress one day.
Chizu becomes the leader of the Sakurakami, the personal escort of the empress. They fiercely protect and serve the empress, but after her mother’s death, the northern barrier weakens, and Chizu and the Sakurakami warriors are forced to defend the sacred temple in the far north from the terrible Ashura.
Years later, the lands previously protected by the light of the goddess Hikarii become cursed, and the Sakurakami are forgotten. Today, war and the desire for power have engulfed Himukai, and a follower of the secret path decides to reunite the Sakurakami to unify the imperial treasures and bring peace to the empire under a single flag.
The miniatures in the SAKURAKAMI range are beautifully crafted, with intricate details and stunning designs. They capture the essence of the samurai and the story of the Sakurakami. The Kickstarter campaign offers various pledge levels that allow backers to receive different miniature sets, including the Sakurakami warriors, the followers of the secret path, and the Ashura enemies.
