Iconiq Studios’They Live: The Card Game is based on the iconic John Carpenter movie, They Live, and is a fast-paced 3-6 player game focused on strategy, teamwork, and deceit.
In the game, players work together to gather resources, arm themselves, defeat enemies, and uncover hidden Invaders who are determined to enslave the city and destroy humanity. However, not everyone is who they say they are, and among the group are secret Invaders who are trying to sabotage the team’s efforts.
As Humans, players must work together to outsmart the Invaders and take them down before it’s too late. Meanwhile, as an Invader, players must remain hidden and try to capture the city while throwing doubt on other players and making them accuse the wrong people.
The game is asymmetrical, meaning that each player has a different role and objective. Players must watch their opponents closely and try to deduce who among them is the Invader.
Iconiq Studios is also offering an exclusive upgrade pack for the game, which includes a pair of Hoffman Lenses that can see hidden words on some very special Identity cards. Each card changes when you look at it through the glasses, revealing whether you are a Human or an Invader. The Upgrade Pack replaces the standard Identity cards, and players take turns using the glasses to uncover the truth of who they are.
In addition, a neoprene game mat is available for individual players to use in gameplay. The artwork for the cards matches the artwork of the game mat, creating an immersive player experience.
