Fans of the acclaimed Mass Effect series can look forward to a new experience as Modiphius Entertainment opens pre-orders for “Mass Effect the Board Game – Priority: Hagalaz”. Alongside the game, a series of highly detailed Mass Effect miniatures is also being introduced.

The game, crafted by well-known designers Eric M. Lang and Calvin Wong Tze Loon, is a cooperative and narrative-driven board game for 1 to 4 players. It is set during the dramatic events of Mass Effect 3 on the storm-threatened world of Hagalaz. Players will navigate a perilous mission through a downed Cerberus cruiser, uncovering secrets and facing formidable foes with the familiar crew from the Normandy, including Shepard, Liara, Tali, Wrex, and Garrus.

The game is priced at £40 / $50 and is slated for release in early October through Asmodee at local gaming stores and via the Modiphius webstore. The associated miniatures will see an early release through pre-order on the Modiphius website and are set to hit retail stores on N7 Day, November 7, 2024.

“Mass Effect the Board Game – Priority: Hagalaz” offers a branching narrative with multiple outcomes based on players’ decisions, mimicking the Paragon/Renegade paths from the video games. The game’s dynamics are driven by card-based enemy actions, with players’ early choices impacting subsequent missions. Players can customize their characters’ abilities, equipment, and powers, further enriched by completing loyalty missions.

Included in the game box are six pre-assembled miniatures representing key characters from the series.

Accompanying the board game is a new line of Mass Effect miniatures, comprising highly detailed 32mm resin figures. These include characters and enemies from the series, providing options for game enhancement and collection. The miniatures range features the main crew in alternate poses and various enemy types, including elite Cerberus bosses and major galactic threats, as well as packs of standard troops.
