Green or Gold? The Epic Warhammer 40,000 Pre-order Dilemma

ByDaniel Kling Lorentsen

This Sunday’s pre-order preview from Games Workshop presents Warhammer 40,000 fans with a variety of options, highlighting the upcoming releases for both Orks and Adeptus Custodes factions. The announcement encourages enthusiasts to consider their next addition, offering products in both green and gold themes.

Ork Releases: Codex and Combat Forces

The release includes Codex: Orks for the 10th edition, available in both a standard edition and a Collector’s Edition. These editions aim to provide comprehensive guidelines for Ork players, including rules, background, and painting guides. The Collector’s Edition is noted for its limited availability and unique design features.

Additionally, the Ork faction sees the introduction of new models and sets, such as the Battleforce: Stompa Boyz, which includes a variety of Ork units and a Stompa. The Combat Patrol: Orks set, known as Morgrim’s Butchas, offers a selection of Beast Snagga Orks for tabletop battles.

Ork players can also look forward to accessories like dice and datasheet cards, designed to enhance the gaming experience with themed aesthetics.

Adeptus Custodes Releases: Codex and Battleforces

For those interested in the Adeptus Custodes, the new Codex: Adeptus Custodes provides detailed information for collecting, painting, and playing with this faction. Like the Orks, this codex is available in both a standard and a Collector’s Edition, with the latter featuring special design elements for collectors.

The Adeptus Custodes also receive new model sets, including the Battleforce: Auric Champions, which introduces a Shield Captain and his elite guard. The Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes offers players a starting or expansion set featuring key units from the faction.

Similar to the Orks, Adeptus Custodes-themed dice and datasheet cards are being released, catering to fans who appreciate faction-specific gaming accessories.

Additional Releases and Content

The preview also mentions the Baal Predator Upgrade Pack for the Blood Angels faction in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, alongside new offerings from the Black Library, including “Da Big Dakka,” “The Dead Kingdom,” and “Children of Teclis.”

Warhammer+ subscribers have new content to look forward to, with episodes focusing on the Orks, and Age of Sigmar enthusiasts are teased with upcoming rules and miniatures reveals.
