“God of War: The Board Game” Launches on Gamefound

CMON has launched a crowdfunding campaign for “God of War: The Board Game” on Gamefound. This cooperative dungeon crawler, designed for 1-2 players, features a series of adventures based on the time period between the video games “God of War” (2018) and “God of War: Ragnarök.” The board game aims to raise $150,000 and has currently secured $116,773, reaching 77% of its goal with 15 days left in the campaign.

“God of War: The Board Game” encourages players to take on the roles of Kratos and Atreus, engaging in combat and solving puzzles that require strategic cooperation. The game introduces a “Synergy System” which emphasizes teamwork between players to overcome challenges and progress through the game. This system is integral to both the game’s mechanics and its narrative, reflecting the relationship dynamics seen in the original video game series.

The game includes detailed miniatures representing various iconic monsters from the “God of War” universe, adding a visual and tactical depth to the gameplay. The combat and leveling system also focuses on the bonding between characters, enhancing the cooperative aspect of the game.
