Asmodee and Bezzerwizzer Studio Introduce SETUP – A Cross-Generational Tile Game That Adds a New Twist to Rummy!

A family of four gathers around a wooden table playing a tile game, with the focus on a young boy moving a piece. The warm, softly lit room, enhanced by string lights and a window view, creates an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of an Asmodee ad.

Asmodee and Bezzerwizzer Studio have announced the launch of SETUP, a new rummy-style tile-based game that is perfect for all ages. The game challenges players to build sets of suits or numbers in all directions, while accumulating points and avoiding giving points to their opponents. The game is playable with 2-4 players in a free-for-all battle or in a 2v2 team mode, making it an exciting set-building showdown for the whole family.

“SETUP will be a game familiar to anyone who has played rummy before or just picked up a deck of cards. Our new spin on how to make sets and score points makes it fun for players and families of all generations to enjoy together,” said Birgitte Bülow, CEO of Bezzerwizzer Studio.

The game’s key features include a simple and fast-paced 25-minute runtime, replacing cards and complex scorekeeping with colorful tiles and a game board. Additionally, the bonus squares add an extra twist of strategy to SETUP, as each player has two bonus squares, in which only they can place tiles. Other players can create sets using tiles from a bonus square, but both the tile placer and owner of the bonus square score points.

SETUP is now available in stores worldwide, including John Lewis for £23.99. Asmodee and Bezzerwizzer Studio are confident that the game will become a favorite among families and classic card game fans. “We’re excited to bring SETUP to families and classical game fans across the globe,” said Birgitte Bülow. “SETUP makes the rummy genre engaging at every turn, and we believe it will be a hit with players of all ages.”
