Ares Announces Three New Games Coming in 2023

Ares Games, the popular board game publisher, has announced the release of three new games for 2023. After a 3-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, Ares Games made its comeback to the Spielwarenmesse – Nuremberg Toy Fair in early February to showcase the upcoming releases. The three games include the English-language versions of Cangaceiros and Ensemble, in partnership with Ergo Ludo Editions, and a brand new game in the Quartermaster General series – East Front.

Cangaceiros, inspired by the outlaw gangs of Brazil’s Northeast in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is a Euro-style game. Players are bandits fighting against the government and large landowners to become the most famous gang of the Cangaço. The game is set to be released in April 2023.

Ensemble is a new addition to Ares Games’ Family Games line. The cooperative game challenges 2-10 players to “think” in unison and vote for the best match between images without communicating. Each round presents a new challenge, and as players advance, the game becomes more challenging. Ensemble is set to release in June 2023.

Quartermaster General: East Front, the first 2-player game in the popular Quartermaster General series, simulates the events of World War II’s East Front from the German invasion of the Soviet Union to the fall of Berlin. The game offers a fast and immersive card-driven way to experience the war’s events. East Front is expected to be released in August 2023 and is the first of a new series.

Ares Games has a reputation for producing high-quality board games with unique themes and engaging gameplay. The three upcoming releases for 2023 are expected to be no exception.
