Ampersand RPG Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Simplify Tabletop Gaming for Kids and Parents
Role-playing games are typically complicated and daunting for many parents, often requiring extensive time to learn and manage. But a new Kickstarter campaign seeks to change that with Ampersand RPG, a simplified tabletop RPG that promotes storytelling and imagination over stats and charts.
The campaign, which will run until April 2nd, 2023, aims to raise funds to produce the next Ampersand Adventure, Snakes & Sarcophagi, as well as the Mini-Adventure Quarrys. The game is designed for kids aged six and up, and parents can easily learn to Game Master (GM) for their kids without prior RPG experience.
Each self-contained Ampersand Adventure includes everything players need to start playing right away, including dice, maps, figurines, and a simplified rulebook that emphasizes storytelling and problem-solving. The game is entirely analog, with no need for screens or devices, making it an excellent way for families to spend quality face-to-face time.
Ampersand Adventure also comes with a Game Master’s Screen, which folds out from the game box to display maps and information while hiding the GM’s notes from players. The Snakes & Sarcophagi adventure will include a game master’s portfolio, monster and ally cards, a vendor book, puzzle card, loot tokens, and figurines with clear standee bases, among other items.
