Modiphius Entertainment has announced the availability for pre-order of the new campaign book, Against the Faerie Queene. This 370-page campaign book is an epic adventure rooted in Welsh Celtic mythology and is set to ship in early June.
Set in the mythical clanlands of Avallen, Against the Faerie Queene invites players to explore a realm shaped by ancient legends such as “Culhwch and Olwen,” “The Son of Llyr,” and “Peredur the Son of Efrawg.” The campaign weaves a narrative of rebellion, mystical riddles, and quests for redemption as players attempt to thwart the Faerie Queene and her dark designs.
The book is designed to enhance gameplay for both Legends of Avallen, a card-based Celtic TTRPG, and the popular 5th Edition platform, supporting character development from levels 1-10. Players can expect a richly detailed adventure that spans various aspects of Celtic folklore, incorporating both traditional and newly imagined elements.
Against the Faerie Queene introduces new character options, delves into the lore of the Vallic clans, Raxian invaders, and the Fae families, and includes an array of new monsters, magical items, and NPCs designed to enrich the gaming experience. It also features full-color maps and a series of short stories and poems that draw from classic Celtic tales.
Accompanying the campaign book are an art book filled with beautiful concept illustrations and a deck of playing cards that serve a dual purpose. These cards not only facilitate gameplay in Legends of Avallen but also enhance the 5th Edition experience as “Fate Cards,” adding a new layer of excitement to encounters.
