Game developer Everguild has announced the next expansion for Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions, titled Dropsite Massacre, which will be released on July 21st. Following the success of the massive relaunch with the Shadow of the Warmaster expansion, Everguild is building momentum with a major content update focusing on the tragic events of the Isstvan V massacre during the Horus Heresy.
The Dropsite Massacre expansion presents over 150 new cards and introduces the three loyalist Legions – Iron Hands, Salamanders, and Raven Guard. These legions rallied against the traitors following Horus’ rebellion, leading the first significant offensive. The Iron Hands will be available at launch, with the Salamanders and Raven Guard joining the fray in bi-weekly releases on August 4th and 18th, respectively. Further content featuring new neutral cards focused on the Traitor Auxilia and Mechanicum forces will be unveiled on September 1st.
Each Legion in the Dropsite Massacre provides a unique gameplay experience. Players will see familiar characters, but all armies have been completely reimagined with new cards, characters, meticulously crafted artwork, and exciting new mechanics. This revamp is set to bring a fresh strategic layer to Horus Heresy: Legions.
The Isstvan V massacre was a defining event during the Horus Heresy. The Iron Hands, Salamanders, and Raven Guard legions sought to halt Horus’ malevolent forces before they could engulf the galaxy. However, their resistance met a grim fate on the desolate world of Isstvan V. Players can now witness the critical events that shaped these loyalist Legions’ destinies and engage in intense battles leveraging their unique play styles and powerful abilities.
