Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition Core Rulebook Released by Renegade Game Studios

ByDaniel Kling Lorentsen

The long wait is finally over. Renegade Game Studios announced on August 30th that the highly anticipated 5th edition of the storytelling game Werewolf: The Apocalypse is now available for purchase.

What is Werewolf: The Apocalypse?

Werewolf: The Apocalypse is a part of the expansive World of Darkness universe, which also includes other titles like Vampire: The Masquerade and Mage: The Ascension. In this storytelling game, players assume the roles of werewolves known as Garou, who are on a quest to find radical solutions to environmental degradation and societal injustices. While the game keeps the essence of the previous editions, the 5th edition is a complete re-imagining rather than a continuation.

About The Game

The Core Rulebook for Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition is a comprehensive guide that contains everything players need to start their adventures. It adopts the 5th edition Storyteller system from the World of Darkness universe. The rulebook also includes an introductory story that serves as a tutorial, making it perfect for both newcomers to the World of Darkness and veterans of the series.

Environmental and Spiritual Horror

The new edition carries a dark narrative reflecting the real-world crisis Gaia, or Mother Earth, is facing. As a Garou, players must battle the forces of avarice, greed, and destruction that are plaguing the world. Failure is not an option as extinction looms large.

“The ices melt, while the seas swell. The heat rises, while the forests wither. Extinction threatens millions, in favor of the few. The Garou have failed. The Apocalypse is here.”
