Warhammer Age of Sigmar ushers in New Season with Dawnbringers and Expands Blood Bowl: Fresh Flavour Revealed
The latest Sunday Preview from Games Workshop is now up. In Warhammer Age of Sigmar, change looms over the Mortal Realms as the Dawnbringer Crusades prepare to reclaim territories lost during the Age of Chaos. “Harbingers,” the first chapter of the new Dawnbringers series, narrates the story of the Twin-Tailed Crusade, focusing on the journey beyond Hammerhal and the champions who battle against or rally for Sigmar’s expedition.
This book commences the narrative by detailing the genesis of the Twin-Tailed Crusade and the four Harbingers. It includes a new Path to Glory battlepack revolving around recruiting Harbingers and establishing communication outposts, as well as rules for the new Harbinger heroes and their accompanying Regiments of Renown. Additionally, a limited edition of the Dawnbringers series, restricted to just 500 copies, will soon be available for fans.
Further on the horizon is the new General’s Handbook, which promises to update matched play in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The book includes a new battlepack focusing on the primal magic infusing the wild tundras of Andtor, offering a variety of new strategies and challenges.
Also set to release are new cohorts for Fyreslayers, Gloomspite Gitz, Flesh-eater Courts, and Maggotkin of Nurgle. Each of these cohorts includes their respective leaders and an assortment of units to bolster their ranks, enhancing the gameplay with increased complexity and tactical opportunities.
In the realm of Blood Bowl, the game of street-level fantasy football mayhem, “Gutter Bowl,” offers a shift from stadium to the chaotic streets and sewers of the Old World. This expansion introduces new rules, a double-sided game board, and matching dugouts.
Furthermore, two new teams join the fray: The Old World Alliance Blood Bowl Team and the Underworld Denizens Blood Bowl Team, both offering a unique blend of race combinations. These teams each come with their respective card packs, providing team-specific rules and strategies.
Meanwhile, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to introduce Lieutenant Titus and his miniature, which will be available exclusively from the Target webstore starting July 1st, within the “Space Marine: The Board Game.”
In the literary realm, Games Workshop announced Evan Dicken’s “Children of Teclis,” a tale of power struggles and divine plans, available to pre-order next week. Also available for pre-order is “Grombrindal: Chronicles of the Wanderer,” an anthology by David Guymer, collecting seven tales of the legendary Grombrindal.
