The vibrant "Woodland Wizards" card game box showcases a mouse wizard wielding a staff, standing on large leaves infused with magical aura. The scene is alive with mystical creatures and elements, evoking the whimsy of the Wilderland Cup.

Wyrmgold, a German board game publisher, has launched a new game on Kickstarter called Woodland Wizards. The game is a 2-6+ player card battle where small animal wizards compete in a tournament to win the Wilderland Cup. With 21 days left to go, the game is close to reaching its €13,000 goal, currently sitting at €12,500.

In Woodland Wizards, players take on the role of small but powerful woodland creatures who have harnessed the power of magic to summon mystical creatures to help them win the tournament. The game is easy to learn with no setup time, and it features awesome artwork.

The game starts with a wandering phase where each player draws one card from the deck to add to their hand and plays one creature from their hand. All creatures have a special ability and a value that counts towards the contest score and the end score. At the end of the wandering phase, a contest begins, and players place a hidden card in front of them. The effects of the cards are activated in turn order, and the player with the highest value wins the contest.

The boost phase begins after the contest, where players place a hidden card from their hand to boost their contest creature’s value. The player with the highest overall score after four rounds wins the game.

A preview of the rules can be found here.

The game takes about 30 minutes to play and is suitable for ages 10 and up. It will be available in English and German. With its unique theme and easy-to-learn gameplay, Woodland Wizards is a game that is sure to appeal to players of all ages and experience levels.
