Fans of detective mysteries and classic fantasy tabletop games have cause for celebration. “The Mystery of the Cursed Statuette,” a Sherlock Holmes-inspired adventure for fifth edition systems (5e), has been launched on Kickstarter by Midnight Tower.

Within the first few days, the campaign has significantly exceeded its funding goal of $2,676, garnering pledges totaling $34,520 with over a thousand backers. With 25 days remaining until the campaign concludes on June 29, fans are anticipating even more enticing stretch goals.

Tove and Erik of Midnight Tower extend an invitation to prospective heroes, promising an experience that embraces the mystery and intrigue characteristic of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective stories. In this adventure, players will join Winterhold’s Private Detective Agency, pursuing clues, interviewing witnesses, and navigating foggy streets to crack the case of a stolen figurine.

The adventure package includes the “The Mystery of the Cursed Statuette” game, “The Magpie Secret Society” compendium, bespoke vintage character sheets, and six premade characters for immediate play. A special mention of each backer will be included in the book as a bonus. The creators have also provided a free Virtual Tabletop (VTT) pack featuring tokens, gridless maps, and digital handouts to facilitate online gaming.

Midnight Tower narrates a tantalizing tale: a mysterious burglary in the Halls of Lore in Winterhold, a stolen porcelain figurine, and a guard force overwhelmed by a series of kidnappings. The adventure soon evolves into a perilous pursuit involving a cursed statuette, clandestine societies, and a deadly primordial demon.

With an estimated 80 pages of content (if all stretch goals are achieved), the book will be available in hardcover, softcover, and digital formats. The adventure is primarily designed for level 4 characters, but also includes scalable encounters suitable for all character levels between 1 and 20.

Created by the same minds behind other mystery adventures like “An Unexpected Wedding Invitation,” “Before the Stroke of Midnight,” and “What Happened to Evy Ashwood?”, this Sherlock Holmes-inspired adventure promises professional cover art, detailed NPCs, original artwork, high-quality maps, and unique magical items.

As backers continue to support and anticipate “The Mystery of the Cursed Statuette,” Midnight Tower expresses their gratitude, promising an adventure that fans of detective mysteries and fantasy RPGs will not want to miss.
