New Edition of Dark Deeds Card Game Announced by Modiphius Entertainment
Modiphius Entertainment in collaboration with Rookery Publications, has announced a new edition of the card game Dark Deeds. Created by Andy Chambers and Mark Gibbons, Dark Deeds is a strategy card game for 2 to 5 players set in a fictional fantasy city. The game tasks players with executing a series of covert missions on behalf of a mysterious Patron, navigating challenges such as law enforcement, heroic interventions, and competition from other players.
This edition marks a continuation of the game’s presence in the tabletop gaming space, offering a mix of strategy, dark humor, and competitive gameplay. Players must balance aggression with cunning to succeed in their assignments and gain the favor of their enigmatic benefactor.
The development of this new edition of Dark Deeds has been spearheaded by one of its original creators, Mark Gibbons, who has a notable history of creative work with companies such as Games Workshop, Blizzard Entertainment, and Riot Games. Reflecting on the game’s journey, Gibbons highlighted the initial creation and limited release of Dark Deeds, followed by the development of an expansion due to positive feedback from the game’s community.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the concept of Dark Deeds: Second Stab was refined and tested on the digital platform Tabletopia. This led to a partnership with Chris Birch of Modiphius Entertainment for the publication of a new physical edition. The upcoming release has been enhanced with player feedback, revised rules, additional cards, and new artwork, following a comprehensive review and development process by the team at Rookery Publications.
The announcement has sparked interest among tabletop gaming enthusiasts and fans of the original game, promising an engaging and immersive gameplay experience. Further details about the game’s release and availability will be shared by Modiphius Entertainment, with options for interested players to receive updates and participate in the game’s community.
For those looking to explore the game before its physical release, a version is available for play on Tabletopia. Additional information and updates on the new edition of Dark Deeds can be found by visiting Modiphius Entertainment’s official website.
