Nations & Cannons: The American Crisis by Flagbearer Games Nears Kickstarter Goal with Historical D&D Campaign Setting

A dramatic historical painting, reminiscent of a Nations & Cannons campaign, depicts a fiery battle scene with soldiers in red uniforms, some on horseback directing troops. Chaos ensues in the background as people navigate boats amidst large flames and smoke, capturing a vivid American Crisis moment.

Flagbearer Games is on the verge of achieving its fundraising goal for its latest project, Nations & Cannons: The American Crisis. With 27 days left to go, the campaign has already raised over $24,000, with a target of $25,000.

Nations & Cannons is a complete historical campaign setting for D&D 5e that allows players to experience the American Revolution firsthand. With a brand new base class, the Firebrand, and six new subclass options for the core classes, this sourcebook and campaign guide offers new character creation options for a game where everyone is human.

The setting replaces the fantasy races with roles such as Officer, Scout, and Pioneer that mechanically represent the various cultural backgrounds of people in North America during the 1700s. Nations & Cannons also comes with complete rules for black powder firearms, grenades, and cannons.

The rules introduce new mechanics that allow players to experience the American Revolution through the lens of D&D. Instead of spells, the game features Gambits, extraordinary acts of ingenuity, guile, or gumption that function identically to spellcasting. While there aren’t any Wizards, Rangers and Firebrands are casters that use gambits to create dynamic moments in combat, exploration, and social encounters.

Nations & Cannons also highlights the contributions of people who are often left out of history books, including women, people of color, and Indigenous Americans who played an integral role in the American Revolution.

The content is perfect for curious students and history buffs alike, with rich detail on the daily life and wartime struggles of the 18th century. The campaign setting is recommended for fans of Liberty’s Kids, Assassin’s Creed, Warhammer, and Hamilton.

The project has been well received by the gaming community and is set to be a hit with D&D enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The campaign will run for the next 27 days, and with only a small amount of funding left to reach its target, it is sure to be a success.
