Looney Labs Announces New Addition to Looney Pyramids Series: “JINXX”

The JINXX board game set features black and white tree-shaped pieces on a grid board. A box marked "JINXX" includes a symbol-adorned die, instruction booklets titled "JINXX and NINJAS," and complements the whimsical style of Looney Pyramids from Looney Labs.

Looney Labs is set to release a new game titled “JINXX” to its Looney Pyramids™ collection on May 3rd. The game is designed to incorporate both simple rules and strategic depth, consistent with the brand’s existing lineup of games.

“JINXX” is the latest of six Looney Pyramids™ titles and is designed for 2-4 players. It features a 3×3 board where players utilize pyramid-shaped pieces in three sizes and four monochromatic colors: black, white, gray, and clear. The gameplay revolves around strategic placement and movement of pieces, influenced by dice rolls and pyramid sizes. Players must choose between capturing opponents’ pieces or positioning their own for strategic advantage.

Kristin Looney, CEO of Looney Labs, commented on the versatility of the Looney Pyramids, comparing them to a deck of playing cards in terms of the variety of games they can facilitate. The addition of gray pyramids in “JINXX” brings the total to 15 different colors available in the series.

The concept for Looney Pyramids originated in 1987 from a fictional game in a short story called “Icehouse” by Andrew Looney, co-founder and game designer at Looney Labs. This led to the development of the real-life game system that has since spawned numerous games across various complexities and themes.

The “JINXX” game set also includes the rules for an alternate game titled “Hijinks,” which can be played using the same pieces, offering additional gameplay options within the same package.
