Kickstarter Campaign to Bring New Biomes, Missions, and Gameplay Mechanics

After a successful launch in 2022, Ghost Ship Games and MOOD Publishing are doubling down on Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game with a Kickstarter campaign for two exciting new expansions. Scheduled to run from September 28 to October 16, the campaign aims to enhance the board game adaptation with fresh challenges in the form of new biomes, enemies, and gameplay mechanics.

Biome Expansion

The first expansion, simply titled “Biome,” invites players to venture into four new environments teeming with hazards and hostile creatures. The central mission? To seek out and eliminate the Dreadnoughts, perilous beings that pose an immediate threat to miners. A deck of Dreadnought cards will dictate the sequence of challenges players must overcome to achieve victory.

Space Rig Expansion

Offering a different gameplay flavor, the “Space Rig” expansion introduces campaign modes featuring multiple mission types and new loadout upgrade options. One such mission is “Escort Duty,” where players guide the Drilldozer through treacherous mines to obtain the rare Ommoran Heartstone. An event deck will generate unpredictable obstacles, keeping players on their toes.

Another mission, “On-Site Refining,” requires players to set up a mobile refinery across wells of liquid morkite. Once operational, the challenge shifts to maintaining the refinery and defending it from creature attacks.

The Kickstarter campaign for these expansions goes live on September 28. Existing fans and new backers can support the project and look forward to expanding their Deep Rock Galactic universe.
