Games Workshop Sunday Preview Unleashes Khorne and Slaanesh in Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Two of the most fearsome and bloodthirsty forces in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe prepare to clash. Khorne, the God of Blood, and Slaanesh, the God of Excess, are set to unleash an idiosyncratic wave of violence upon the Mortal Realms with new battletomes, miniatures, and more.

The Blades of Khorne battletome has received a major update, with new warscrolls, pitched battle profiles, and Path to Glory rules that will allow players to lead their tide of murderous warriors to wage war like never before. For those looking for something extra special, a limited edition version is available, featuring gilt page edges, gold foil blocking, a red ribbon page marker, and a soft-touch cover – but act fast, as only 500 numbered copies are available.

One of the most exciting new additions to the Blades of Khorne army is the Realmgore Ritualist, an empowered warrior capable of carving burning runes into the land, causing it to convulse and shower his fellow warriors with realm-gore, whipping them into a murderous frenzy.

Meanwhile, followers of Slaanesh will be pleased to hear that the Hedonites of Slaanesh battletome has also received an update, with new warscrolls, pitched battle profiles, and Path to Glory rules. A limited edition version is also available, featuring the same luxurious touches as the Blades of Khorne limited edition.

One of the standout new miniatures for the Hedonites of Slaanesh is the Lord of Hubris, a warrior whose obsession with perfection has led him into the loving embrace of the Dark Prince. With inflated egos and chests puffed, these master duellists are so confident in their martial supremacy that they even let their foes have the first swing, raining down insults and lightning-fast sword swipes in return.

Both the Blades of Khorne and Hedonites of Slaanesh armies will also receive Vanguard boxes, containing a selection of deadly miniatures led by a powerful hero, as well as new warscroll cards and dice sets to help players keep track of their armies in battle.

In addition to the Age of Sigmar updates, Games Workshop has also revealed new Contemptor Dreadnought Torso Upgrades for Horus Heresy enthusiasts, as well as two new books from Black Library: Warboss, an exploration of ork kultur from author Mike Brooks, and Crusaders of Dorn, an anthology collecting all seven of Guy Haley’s Black Templar short stories in audiobook format.

With so many exciting new releases on the horizon, Warhammer fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.
