In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the brave men and women of the Astra Militarum stand unyielding amidst a world teeming with gods, daemons, and enigmatic xenos. Their steadfast devotion to the crumbling Imperium is about to be rewarded with a slew of new releases, specifically designed to thrill fans of the Astra Militarum and the tabletop war game Necromunda.
At the helm of these releases is the miniature of Minka Lesk, a character brought to life by author Justin D. Hill. Known as the last Whiteshield of Kasr Myrak, Lesk’s heroic rise through the ranks to captain the Cadian 101st Regiment has endeared her to many. Now, fans can own a miniature of this legendary character by pre-ordering between Saturday, 22nd July and Monday, 7th August.
The tale of Lt. Lesk continues in “Shadow of The Eighth”, an intriguing narrative that finds Lesk and the Cadian 101st in possession of a relic from the missing Cadian 8th. A quest for honour and retribution takes them to a world caught in the collapsing regime of the Chaos warlord Drakul-zar, where past horrors resurface amidst a frozen industrial sprawl.
Fans will be able to pre-order the Special Edition of “Shadow of The Eighth”, which features a limited run of 1,500 copies, each signed by Justin D. Hill. It includes an author’s introduction, a new short story “Ghosts of Kasr Myrak”, bronze gilt page edges, a ribbon page marker, and unique cover art. Alternatively, the book is also available in hardback, eBook and audiobook formats.
For those looking to delve into Lt. Lesk’s past, the “Minka Lesk: The Last Whiteshield” omnibus offers a collection of stories that track her valiant fight for Cadia, available for pre-order in either paperback or eBook formats.
On the Necromunda front, a new 336-page rulebook is on its way. Compiling all major aspects of the game rules, the Necromunda: Core Rulebook includes the core rules for fighters and vehicles, skills, weapons, traits, a combined trading post, the Dominion Campaign, and 11 scenarios. The rulebook will be available in hardback and ePub formats.
To further support Necromunda gameplay, Games Workshop is also releasing two card packs. The Core Gang Tactics Cards ensure easy reference for key tactics, while the Open Hive War Card Pack offers 50 cards that generate unique missions for players. A pack of 50 card sleeves will also be available to protect these cards from wear and tear.
Lastly, the Black Library is adding new treasures for fans, with the “Tanith Regimental Banner” for fans of the Tanith First and Only, Mike Brook’s novel “Renegades: Harrowmaster”, and the audiobook “Manslayer” by Nathan Long up for pre-orders.
