PIKA Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their latest board game, FLOE, which has quickly exceeded its funding goal. Initially set at $81,400, the campaign has amassed over $194,101 from 1,677 backers, with 20 days remaining until its conclusion on March 19.

FLOE is described as an adventure-strategy game that challenges players to navigate the treacherous terrains of the Iceberg Sea. The game involves exploring uncharted icebergs, sailing in search of treasures, delving into caves for crystals, and engaging in combat with monsters.

The Kickstarter board game, Icy Adventures, is set up on a blue surface with a purple game board showcasing various cards, tokens, and a pink game piece. The cards depict snowy landscapes and characters from the FLOE universe. Colorful dice and markers add to the excitement on the board.

The game incorporates a companion feature, where players are accompanied by a familiar that assists in resource gathering and combat. Progress through the game enables players to gain allies, abilities, items, and the opportunity to build shrines, thereby securing their legacy within the game’s world.

A notable element of FLOE is the consideration of warmth as a resource. Activities outside the village consume warmth, compelling players to manage their expeditions carefully and return to the village for recuperation and upgrades.

FLOE distinguishes itself with a region-to-region movement system that avoids traditional grid navigation, opting for movement determined by the natural layout of ice and sea. The game also introduces Floe Stone stickers, allowing players to track village progress and unlock new gameplay features and lore about the Crystal Kingdom as they achieve specific milestones.
