Fantasy Flight Games Announces NeXt Evolution Expansion for Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Fantasy Flight Games has announced the release of a new expansion for Marvel Champions: The Card Game, called NeXt Evolution. This is the sixth campaign expansion for the game and will feature the team of mutant heroes known as X-Force, as they face off against some of their most iconic foes, including the Marauders, Juggernaut, and Mister Sinister.

The expansion will come with five new scenarios, which can be played individually or as part of a larger campaign. NeXt Evolution will also introduce two new playable heroes: Cable and Domino, both of whom will have pre-built decks and will be ready to play right out of the box.

One of the major features of NeXt Evolution is the introduction of a new type of card called player side schemes. These cards represent missions that the heroes undertake to aid them in defeating the villain, and once they are cleared, players can earn fantastic rewards.

The campaign’s first scenario, Morlock Siege, has players fending off the Marauders as they attack the Morlock tunnels underneath New York City. The second scenario, On the Run, has players attempting to rescue Cable’s adopted daughter, Hope, who has been captured by the Marauders. The third scenario, The Unstoppable Juggernaut, has players facing off against the massive brute, Juggernaut, who gets more dangerous with every “momentum counter” he builds up. The final scenario has players taking on the mastermind behind the plot to capture Hope: Mister Sinister.

NeXt Evolution will also mark the beginning of a new wave of hero packs, with four hero packs featuring iconic members of X-Force set to be released in the future.

Fans of Marvel Champions: The Card Game can pre-order their copy of NeXt Evolution (MC40en) at their local retailer or online through Fantasy Flight Games’ webstore, with the game set to hit store shelves in August.
