Dranda Games’ latest creation, Pioneer Rails, has reached over £10,000 on Kickstarter with 30 days still remaining on the campaign.
Pioneer Rails takes players on a journey through the wild west, as they represent a railroad owner looking to expand their empire across the new lands of the frontier. The aim of the game is to compete with other railroad owners by planning the best possible railway, connecting establishments and satisfying the demands of the locals.
The game is a Flip & Write game, where players use poker cards to extend their railway tracks and build a poker hand at the same time. Each turn, players choose one of the revealed poker cards. The suit of the card helps players extend their railway, connecting them to new towns and surrounding features. When players connect to a town, they gain the ability to do a one-time bonus. When players surround a feature with their tracks, they activate it for end game scoring.
With 30 days still to go, there is plenty of time for new backers to join in and help the game reach even greater heights.
