Dungeons of the Oak Dell: A Roguelite Dungeon Crawler Inspired by PC Classics Now on Kickstarter
Two Acorns Games has launched Dungeons of the Oak Dell, a new roll-and-write dungeon crawler for 1 to 4 players, on Kickstarter. The game draws inspiration from classic PC titles like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, and Grimrock. Combining rondel and dice drafting mechanics, it offers players a mix of strategic exploration and combat as they delve into dungeons filled with traps, locked doors, treasures, and various challenges.
The game introduces a unique combat system where players target specific parts of monsters’ bodies to disable abilities or deal quicker damage. This mechanic adds a layer of immersion to the gameplay, as each enemy presents distinct skills and behaviors. As players progress, they will level up their heroes and face different quests, each with its own objectives.
In addition to multiplayer gameplay, Dungeons of the Oak Dell features a roguelite solo mode for players looking for a single-player experience. The game is designed to be language-independent, with rules being translated into multiple languages.
The Kickstarter campaign for Dungeons of the Oak Dell has already surpassed its initial goal, raising $9,477 from 580 backers, with 12 days remaining. The campaign will run until October 1.
