Dragonmount Press is preparing to launch its new tabletop role-playing game, Zombie Road, on Gamefound tomorrow, September 10, at 3:00 PM CET. The game, set in a post-apocalyptic world, merges real-world locations with tabletop RPG mechanics.

Zombie Road RPG is unique in that it allows players to represent themselves in the game, set against the backdrop of their real-life locales reimagined as post-apocalyptic environments. The game is structured around quick, one-shot adventures, making it ideal for players who prefer short, intense gaming sessions. It features a simplified rule set designed to be accessible to beginners while still offering the complexity that experienced players appreciate.

The narrative is set more than a decade after a societal collapse, focusing on a mission to escort an immune individual to a laboratory to develop an antibody. The game introduces mechanics such as a special d6 system, an endurance feature for recovering from failed rolls, and a “strigula” collection system.

In anticipation of the launch, Dragonmount Press is offering exclusive rewards for early backers. Those who join the campaign before it goes live will receive a free adventure module inspired by David A. Simpson’s Zombie Road novel series. Additionally, backers who support the project within the first 48 hours will gain access to an early bird package, which includes a DIY game master board and additional gaming materials like unique items and several random tables.

The crowdfunding campaign will present various support levels, offering both digital and print editions of the game. A special edition benefiting the WWF Hungary Foundation and a deluxe edition with exclusive cover art by renowned Hungarian comic artist Krisztián Tuli will also be available.
