Detective: Saints and Sinners Expansion Takes Crime-Solving to New Heights in the World of Detective: City of Angels

Van Ryder Games has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound for their latest expansion, Detective: Saints and Sinners. This expansion brings a fresh dose of crime-solving goodness to the highly acclaimed narrative-driven board game, Detective: City of Angels. Set in the dark and violent world of 1940’s Los Angeles, this immersive game captivates players with its gripping storyline and challenging gameplay.

In Detective: City of Angels, players assume the roles of LAPD Homicide detectives, determined to solve cases by any means necessary. However, in Saints and Sinners, one player takes on the role of The Chisel, whose sole objective is to hinder and misdirect the detectives at every turn. This thrilling twist adds an extra layer of suspense and intrigue to the gameplay, keeping players on the edge of their seats throughout the investigation.

The expansion aims to raise $20,000 through the crowdfunding campaign, and as of now, it has already reached an impressive 81% of its goal, with $16,342 pledged by 243 backers. With 17 days left in the campaign, there is still time for fans and enthusiasts to support this project and secure their copy of Detective: Saints and Sinners.

Designed for 1 to 5 players, Detective: Saints and Sinners offers a playtime of approximately 120 minutes. The game is recommended for players aged 14 and above, due to its mature themes and complex gameplay mechanics. Fans of detective stories and immersive board games will find themselves engrossed in the richly detailed world of 1940’s Los Angeles.

The expansion includes three new cases, meticulously crafted by experienced designers Alara Cameron, William Kenyon, and Logan Giannini. Renowned artist Vincent Dutrait returns to lend his talents to the game, creating period-inspired artwork that captures the essence of the era. Joining him are Roland MacDonald and Magdalena Płoszkiewicz, who make their visual mark on the City of Angels, contributing to the game’s stunning visuals.

The announcement also clarifies the inclusion of the “Cloak & Daggered” case in the Saints and Sinners expansion. Previously released as a standalone product, the game designers have decided to incorporate it into this expansion due to changes in their release model. From now on, “Cloak & Daggered” will no longer be available as a standalone case. Existing owners of “Cloak & Daggered” are encouraged to pledge for the Saint reward level, which includes only the new material and an updated Sleuth book containing all three cases. Those who do not yet own “Cloak & Daggered” can complete their Detective: City of Angels collection by backing the Sinner reward level, which includes a full copy of Saints and Sinners.

Detective: Saints and Sinners promises to deliver an enhanced gameplay experience, pushing players’ detective skills to the limit as they navigate the intricate web of crime in 1940’s Los Angeles. With its compelling narrative, immersive artwork, and challenging gameplay, this expansion is set to captivate both new and seasoned players alike. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to support this exciting project and delve deeper into the shadows of Detective: City of Angels.
