Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Goes All-Out with Magnificent Monsters Set & Brand-New Grand Master Rares

Konami is celebrating the legacy of the first six Yu-Gi-Oh! anime heroes with Magnificent Monsters, a new set dropping later this year that packs iconic cards, fresh abilities, and a shiny new rarity tier.

The set centers on 18 reimagined cards tied to Yugi, Jaden, and crew—think Dark Magician, Favorite HERO Flame Wingman, Stardust Dragon – Victim Sanctuary, and more. Each comes as a standard Ultra Rare, with extended-art versions in Ultra and Starlight Rare (the latter rocking new rainbow borders).

But the real headliner? Grand Master Rares. These feature hieroglyphic borders and are serial-numbered from 001 to 100—only 100 copies per card for the Americas, and another 100 for Europe/Oceania/Africa/Middle East. They’re all in English but can show up in non-English packs. Good luck chasing those.

Beyond the big 18, the set adds:

  • 20 new or alternate anime-inspired arts (like Orichalcos Sword of Sealing)
  • 10 “chibi”-style variant arts for cards like Divine Arsenal AA–ZEUS – Sky Thunder
  • 6 brand-new boss monsters—one for each Special Summon type, including Nightmare-Eyes Restrict (Fusion) and Galaxy-Eyes Antimatter Dragon (Xyz)
  • 40 foil-upgraded reprints, split into two pools

To keep things fair, Konami’s using a slot system per pack. Each box has 3 packs, with 5 Ultra Rares per pack plus 3 Secret Rares (with a shot at upgrading to Starlight).

Magnificent Monsters drops soon—keep an eye on the official site for dates.
