Don’t Panic Games Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Narrative-Focused Role-Playing Game Nobi Nobi
Don’t Panic Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their latest project, Nobi Nobi, a narrative-focused tabletop role-playing game inspired by childhood imagination and exploration.
Nobi Nobi allows players to take on the roles of children navigating a world filled with wonder and challenges. The game centers on collaborative storytelling, providing an experience shaped by the players’ imagination. According to the creators, the game features straightforward rules and engaging artwork, which they believe makes it suitable for a wide range of players.
The game comes in several themed editions—Sword, Magic, Horror, and Thriller—which can be mixed and matched to create customized adventures. Developed by Takashi Konno, a game designer and animator, Nobi Nobi RPG was playtested extensively in game clubs and cafes across Japan. Originally published by Japanese publisher Arclight, the game has already been released in Italian and French, and its English version is now being launched through the Kickstarter campaign.
Since its initial release, Nobi Nobi has sold over 50,000 copies globally. According to the creators, the game offers a quick-start experience that requires minimal preparation, with rules that can be learned in under five minutes, which they say makes it accessible for both new and experienced players.
With the Kickstarter campaign running until October 31, Don’t Panic Games aims to bring Nobi Nobi to a broader audience. To give potential backers a taste of the game, a free Print & Play version is available, allowing players to experience the storytelling mechanics firsthand.
