Fantasy Flight Announces Holiday Preview Wave For Star Wars: Destiny: Legacies Expansion

So, how about that Episode VIII, eh?
... I've not seen it, actually. But a lot of my friends have (which means they can shut up about "OMG!! Don't spoil anything for me!!!")
Well, I don't think that there's anything that's spoiled in the Star Wars: Destiny Legacies expansion for the movie, but previewer beware. Fantasy Flight is giving you a chance to check out the new set before it's released as a pair of mini-waves, one of which is out today.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews Yellow Cards From Star Wars: Destiny: Legacy Expansion

The Star Wars galaxy is filled with all manner of characters on the fringes. They don't necessarily follow any particular ideology. They're just looking out for themselves. They're a resourceful lot, making-do in a galaxy that's struggling with war. In the Legacy expansion for Star Wars: Destiny, these characters and their kind are colored yellow. But don't think that means they're not up for a fight. Get a look at what you'll be able to add to your decks with this preview.

Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge Pre-Release Tournament Coming Next Month

It's cold up in Canada. Very cold. I mean, I used to live in Chicago, and Canada's colder than that. But for those who love Sailor Moon enough, there just might be a reason to visit that frozen land. Dyskami Publishing is coming out with their Sailor Moon Crystal Dice Challenge game, and they're holding a pre-release tourney in Guelph in a couple weeks. It'll be your first chance to try out the game. They'll even have prizes if you go in costume.

Tomb of Annihilation Set For Dice Masters Now Available

Seems we've got a couple Dungeons & Dragons releases today that aren't actually Dungeons & Dragons releases. In this case, it's the Tomb of Annihilation set for Dice Masters. Want to get your dice-rolling on without your full group there? Now you certainly can, as you take on undead horrors (or control them, if you so choose) with your fireball and sword.

WizKids Announces Kung-Fu Zoo Dice Game

I wish I was a martial arts master. I just lack discipline... and drive... and pretty much any sort of physical ability at all... But still, how cool would it be to be able to do jumping back-kicks and stuff like that? Well, all the animals in the zoo have been training in their off-time and now that all the zookeepers have gone home, it's time for a tourney. That's what's happening in Kung-Fu Zoo, a new dexterity-based dice game coming from WizKids.

Runes of Ragnarok Dice Game Up On Kickstarter

Odin's missing. Now, that might not seem so bad, if it's just a quick jaunt, but this is pretty serious. The world tree, Yggdrasil, is shaking violently, its limbs possibly breaking and throwing the nine realms into chaos. The other Norse gods have decided that something must be done. That something, of course, is to become the new Allfather. But, as they say, there can be only one. A fight is on. That's the story behind Runes of Ragnarok, a new dice game that's up on Kickstarter now.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews Blue Cards From Legacies Expansion of Star Wars: Destiny

The Force is something that sets the Star Wars universe apart from other sci-fi settings. Those that are strong in the Force can perform many great feats. In this preview, get a look at some of the blue cards coming in the Legacies expansion.

Review Roundup

It's feeling a lot like Saturday 2: Sat Harder (editor's note: rework that title before publishing) here. Yesterday I spent much of the day at home, hanging out and working on my friend's Guild Ball minis. He moved recently and a bunch of his stuff got jumbled and busted up. Plus, there were some new kits he'd gotten in that he wasn't sure when he would be able to assemble them. Putting figures together is arguably my favorite part of the whole hobby, so I've offered to fix his busted minis, assemble his new ones, and even move some of his other figures over to sculpted bases he'd gotten. There's ~35 minis that are getting some kind of work on them, from assembly, to those bases, to fixes, to green-stuffing the slots. It's been a fun project. Certainly kept me busy. Plus, next time I see them on the other side of the pitch, I don't have to see a bunch of half-assembled and busted figures. :P
But I'm currently taking a break (my hand's cramping from using a pin vice all morning) to bring you those reviews I know you all so desperately desire.

This week we have: Storm Hollow, The Mysterious Forest, Pandemic Legacy Season 2, Vengeance, Gloom of Kilforth, Spoils of War, Santorini, Kerala, Mini Rails, Armageddon, By Order of the Queen, NMBR 9, Coded: Card-Time Strategy, Legend of the Five Rings, Woo-Hoo!, AquaSphere, and Cities of Splendor.

Asmodee Launches Holiday Sale

So, it's come to this...
We all knew they'd show up eventually. Well, they're here. Asmodee looks to be leading the group, having launched their Holiday sale. And, being Asmodee, it's not just them, but all their subsidiaries like Z-Man, Fantasy Flight, Days of Wonder, and others. And, you know, I'm a big fan of getting holiday shopping done ahead of time, especially ordering online. You order. It shows up. You're done. Simple.
