“Cursed Captains of Cthulhu” RPG Brings Pirates and Cthulhu Mythos Together in New PDF Release

Black Cats Gaming has released its latest roleplaying game, Cursed Captains of Cthulhu, now available in PDF on the official website, DriveThruRPG, and itch.io. Developed by James Barry, the game combines elements of piracy during the Golden Age with themes from the Cthulhu mythos. Players are tasked with assembling crews to explore the Caribbean, facing various challenges and opponents.

Cursed Captains of Cthulhu introduces a new 4d6 system called the Follow System, designed to be straightforward while offering multiple ways for characters to develop through skill choices and experience. The game allows for a variety of character types, including sailors, Windcallers, and students.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Cursed Captains of Cthulhu unlocked additional content such as a GM’s screen, custom dice, and an adventure booklet, which are also available in PDF format.

The writing team for this project includes Samantha Webb, Kienna Shaw, and Bee Zelda, each with notable experience in the tabletop RPG industry. Their previous work spans titles from publishers such as Paizo, Wizards of the Coast, and Free League Publishing.
