No, the author wasn’t just lazy and didn’t want to name their game. The title of the new RPG is Untitled. Why call it that? Because as you roll critical successes, instead of gaining levels, you can add new titles to your characters. Those titles will give you special abilities and bonuses as you play. It’s a bit of a unique spin on things. The game is up now on Kickstarter.
From the campaign:
Untitled is a tabletop fantasy role-playing game. It combines crunchy and dangerous elements of old-school gaming with new philosophies that enhance narration and streamline gameplay.
Untitled is meant to give you the most complete “starter kit” on the market, allowing players to quickly build large, dynamic worlds and adventures together in DIY fashion, using nothing but pencils, paper, and dice in the classic style.
You can learn the rules, create unique characters, build your spells and weaponry, and create an entire fantasy world, teeming with terrain and factions and evil plots, before you finish your first bag of chips!
“The game played like a dream and the combat worked beautifully. It does a great job of taking some of my favorite Dungeon World stuff while streamlining it a bit. This is more robust than The Black Hack and much more suited to campaign play.” – Will Akers, Designer of Smallball
The Kickstarter is about 1/3 funded with still 27 days left to go.
