All of us wish we could use magic. You might not originally agree to that statement, but come on. We've all been stuck in traffic, wishing we could fly our car over everyone else's, or just make everyone else's car disappear, or something like that. What if you could use magic? But what if using it increased the amount of risk of danger for your friends and loved ones? Would you still make all those cars disappear? It's questions like this that play out in the Unknown Armies RPG, the third edition of which is up on Kickstarter now.
The game focuses on broken people conspiring to fix the world... sounds like most of my friends, really. Anyway, in the game, various people have the ability to realign reality with their desires, but every action has unknown consequences. So every time you use your godlike power, you risk causing godlike amounts of destruction (subtle as it might be).
The campaign's doing rather well. They're closing in on 5x funded (if they're not already there by the time you read this) with still 14 days left to go.
