Tide & Tangle Now Live on Kickstarter: Otter-Themed DIY Game Brings Players to the Golden Coast

Tide & Tangle, a new Print-and-Play board game, has launched on Kickstarter, offering players a light-hearted experience focused on friendly competition and cooperation.

In Tide & Tangle, players take on the role of otters along the Golden Coast, aiming to gather points by diving for treasures, floating in rafts, and navigating the game’s modular board. The game is designed to balance competition with collaborative play; players can pursue individual goals or raft together for shared advantages. An unpredictable wave mechanic adds variety to each round, providing new players an accessible entry point while rewarding strategic play.

The game’s DIY Print-and-Play format allows for convenient, at-home printing and assembly, with clear-cut components and unique origami otter pawns designed in collaboration with origami artist Marc Kirschenbaum and illustrator Claire Lin. For €7, backers receive the base game in a digital format, with a premium pledge offering additional features, such as a collector’s booklet and DIY box files. A planned expansion, Pearl of the Ocean, will be unlocked if the €4000 stretch goal is met, adding components for a fifth player.

Tide & Tangle marks Kaminski’s second original project following Tiny Mini Golf. The Print-and-Play approach provides an accessible and cost-effective option, enabling backers to immediately receive the game digitally upon campaign completion. The campaign will run until November 24.
